NEW TOOL: How to avoid known pitfalls associated with culturally responsive instruction

The new vision for K-12 science education includes a central focus on understanding science learning as a cultural endeavor. This means that educators should be engaging — at least somewhat routinely — in culturally responsive instruction as they implement inclusive 3D instruction. We have previously published a half-day professional development module on designing culturally responsive instruction. But this is complicated work. This new STEM Teaching Tool highlights a range of known pitfalls with taking a culturally responsive approach to science teaching.
