NEW TOOL: Engaging Students in Computational Thinking During Science Investigations
Posted on February 22, 2019
Computational thinking is a central element of the science and engineering practices in the NRC Framework—and cuts across them in specific ways. Although computational thinking is receiving a fair amount of attention in STEM education generally, it has not been as central to implementation efforts in K-12 science education. This new STEM Teaching Tool does some definitional work around the practice and points to starting points about how computational thinking can show up in the context of science investigations. This resource comes from the Computational Inquiry in Science project at the University of Washington.
